Unlike other Grand hotels I have stayed at, The Imperial still maintains the original high standards of the Grand Hotel. Prices are very reasonable in low season with great views across the harbour and easy walking distance to the town centre”

“Excellent service from the staff. Perfect location with lift directly down to harbour road. We only stayed two nights and the only negatives would be no room service for new toiletries or teabags between nights. Also if you have a car and have mobility issues the car park is located fairly close but area very hilly. Would however return ”

“We had an amazing week, great sea view room, fabulous breakfast each day, we also ate there of an evening a couple of times and had sunday lunch and each time the food and service was excellent and great value for money. Lots of free parking and easy walking distance to the town centre. The staff were all friendly and approachable nothing was too much, all in all a great week.”

“We had a great stay overnight on a Sunday when there was plenty of free parking on the road just outside the hotel. The spa was wonderful and our room was very comfortable. Great staff and facilities with a 24hr bar service. We would highly recommend. ”

“Stunning location, clean and modern. Love The Salcombe Gin touch at 5pm! Spa was lovely and treatment was one of the best. Bar & Restaurant is really nice with lovely views. My only ‘minus’ was really the quality of the food was not the best. I had the risotto which was tasteless. ”

“Ho soggiornato qui qualche anno fa e non ero rimasto soddisfatto. Questa volta però ho trovato l'albergo all'altezza. La posizione è ottima, direi che è orientato alle vacanze, più che a un soggiorno di lavoro. Vi era infatti una comitiva di turisti austriaci, che apparivano molto soddisfatti. Le camere sono confortevoli e ragionevolmente silenziose. La colazione è passabile e la zona ristorante ha una vista assai gradevole. L'unico neo è la strada di accesso, che è fin troppo stretta.”

“Fantastic Sunday lunch and overnight stay. Had a late lunch and a very relaxed afternoon looking at the beautiful view before moving to the fireside sofas for an evening of board games, cheese and wine. Fabulous staff, lovely room. Overall a wonderful short break. ”

“Excellent value for money for a small but well equipped hotel. Newish owners clearly making some cosmetic improvements. Only constructive feedback would be that it wasn’t always easy to identify who were members of staff and who were guests. Would definitely stay again”

“Beautiful hotel in the most stunning location. Fantastic for dog walking and miles away from anything. Beautiful views, with access to sea and sand. Lovely food, rooms are great. Sadly didn’t get to use the spa as was fully booked but very quiet in the hotel so not sure how had booked it!”

“ Loved the food especially the moules mariniere, french fries and sauce,but had a nasty virus and cough so not much appetite, friendly guests, staff, and atmosphere on the ground floor in the bar and restaurant. What makes the 7 stars hotel unique is the architecture of the building adding to its character and history, and would be a great setting for an offbeat film. I disliked the Agatha Christie room immediately, found it creepy iand am still freaked out by the experience, I could not...
