“At check in I was told my expedia reservation had been cancelled. Not true at all. I had to check in with a pre-autorization as new guest. But once the issue got solved, the concierge and all personnel was very polite and caring, calling me by my name. On my departure day (late evening) I was given a room to take a shower (free of charge). The hotel is a standard African aged, well preserved good hotel. But polite service and excuses make the difference !”

“The positives: This is a 5-star hotel and Douala and Cameroon should be proud of this hotel. The building is impressive, the furnishings, the decor and the rooms and the suite we stayed in was absolutely stunning. The reception was worthy of a 5-star hotel. The staff were amazing. The negatives: the windows from the rooms are dirty and do not give a good impression of the hotel. They can be cleaned from the inside so that guests have a good view from the hotel. “The shower water teater was in the shower with a power point which was very dangerous. The tv only had 2 channels nothing else worked. There was no fridge in the room or tea and coffee making facilities. Breakfast was limited to only an omlette every day no other choices. The omlettes were tasty but they ran out of butter/margarine after Day 2 were not too concerned about fixing problem. No real milk for coffee or tea only powder which never seemed to completely disolve. The staff were lovely...
