HOME
Relax with the whole family at this peaceful, newly and tastefully renovated Bungalow. This home is perfect for families, couples, solo Guests. All kids are welcome! Offers 3 queen beds in 3 large bedrooms, two full bathrooms, large modern kitchen, L-shaped spacious dining and living rooms. Floors consists of quality hardwood, engineered vinyl plank and professionally installed tiles in washrooms. The backyard provides relax table and chairs.

BEDRROMS.
Three spacious bedrooms with queen beds. So much attention paid to the beds which have cleaned and ironed bed sheets, Hygienic covers for mattrass, box springs and bed frames to raise beds from floor. Quality zebra blinds provide shade/ darkness for late morning sleep. Large windows for natural light, fresh air, as well as standing fans provided. Masters bedroom has private 4 piece bathroom and Wall-mounted TV.

KITCHEN
Spacious and has bay windows. Offers stainless steel appliances such as stove, fridge, dishwasher. Two coffee machines, kettle, pots, cook spoons, cutlery, microwave, quality quartz countertops. Stacked laundry in the kitchen area.

GUESTS.
Maximum number of Guests is 6. Approval needed for additional Guest after 6, for max of 8 Guests.

LOCATION,
Location is excellent. Lots of amenities are walking distances, such as the Marlborough mall, Trans-Canada shopping mall. Three bus routes to Marlborough train station, just about 6minutes away. Minutes from village square leisure centre. 10 minutes from Calgary down town, and Calgary Stampede ground. Quiet community, my neighbours are seniors, plse do show them some love.

ADDITIONAL HOUSE RULES (To ensure every Guest enjoys a clean/comfortable Home).

-No outdoor shoes to be worn inside home, plse use provided indoor sleepers or yours, violation=$150.
-No smoking inside or around home, violation=$200.
-No pets.
-Empty all your gabage and dispose in city waste bins behind house, violation=$50. Only recycling bottles could stay inside home.
-Delayed checkout after 11am without Host's prior written/text message approval, violation= $50 for every 30mins.
-Please do turn off lights, close window shades prior to checkout. Please ensure the door is locked.

Not helpful host!
Ernest “cancelled” without giving us any notice - didn’t find out til we arrived that we actually didn’t have a place to stay - NO communication from him until I involved Vrbo then all he could say was “sorry for the inconvenience” - thankfully Vrbo was able to get my money back from him - but then had to pay DOUBLE the cost to find a last minute place to stay in a city with very limited options!

DO NOT BOOK!!!!
I had this place booked for a 3 night stay over 7 months in advance and about 18 hours before we were going to drive to the listed house I contacted Ernest (the owner of the house) about checking in and accommodations. Ernest then tells me that this house is no longer for rent as he has full time tenants living there and that I am responsible to cancel everything and have to contact VRBO if i want my money back. He then told me to not try and contact him again as he won’t answer. Ernest has 0 communication skills and does not care about his guests. 5 of us were left scrambling to find alternative accommodations during the busiest time of the year in Calgary. Anyone seeing this listing or anything posted by Ernest should not even risk booking it.

Would not recommend!
I had booked this a couple months well in advance for July 4-8-2024. The host said that he would let us know check in details the day of. We had a 6 hour drive to Calgary. We show up, no one is there, still no answer from Ernest. We tried calling and messaging. I was obviously being hung up on as the phone would ring only twice sometimes and 3-4 other times. We contacted Vrbo support, they tried to get ahold of him and he also did not answer. A lady walked by and went to go into the house, I asked her if she had it booked—- she said yes. The host had obviously double booked, could not even let us know and decided to ghost instead. This was during Calgary stampede so we had to scramble for a hotel that was not over priced last minute. We were refunded with the money a few days later. I have stayed with Vrbo quite a bit the past couple years with my family members and this has yet to happen. I would personally not recommend based on how the host handled this situation.

Nice but aged
Property was clean enough but is definitely showing its age - especially the leather furniture. TVs were frustrating to use. Wireless internet was very fast at well over 200mbit down. Heating was warm and effective, a welcome respite from the frigid outside temperatures. There is a quiet tenant downstairs with a separate entrance, so this is not quite a "whole home rental" like VRBO campaigns on. Proximity to restaurants, malls, and the airport (not in direct runway paths) makes the area desirable and convenient. Overall we were happy with the price paid.

It worked for our needs
The house was good for our purpose. We had one of our workers and his father stay here for a bit over a week. When they checked out they had a ride that was 20 mins delayed. Ernest was quite rude about it and told me he was going to charge an extra $50 for late check out. He also said we had more people staying there than what we said. Even though it really shouldn’t matter if we had 2 or 3 people, we didn’t and I didn’t appreciate Ernest implying I was lying. We were not paying per person, we paid per night.

Good value for an okay house
This is a clean, updated, well furnished, functional home with good value. The bathrooms are clean, the beds are comfortable so we don't have any major complaints. There is a downstairs unit with occupants. That being said, this house has its weird characteristics. Some doors don't close at all or difficult to close. There are exposed light or electrical outlets that are covered with tape. The toilet seat that doesn't fit the actual toilet. The washer didn't work right for us and the dryer shakes & makes a lot of noise when it's turned on. The renovations in this house are done very cheaply. The host posted a set of house rules with monetary fines for each item (this should be disclosed on the listing). However, we like this house because it is very close to our relatives' house and we didn't have a terrible experience staying here. Just be aware of the quirks when you book this house.

Spacious and clean.
The house is older but updates have been made. Looks like it is still a work in progress with minor incomplete finishes that did not affect our stay. There was a tenant downstairs, which we were not aware of when booking. The three bedrooms are comfortable, with queen sized beds and quality bedding. A couple of small fixes are required in the bathrooms but it was nice having two with showers. The living room and dining room were great for visiting, eating and playing cards. we were disappointed that there was no cable TV, only Netflex. Overall, we had a great weekend visiting with family. Thank you to our host, Ernest.
