“The old Mercure is rebranding. It’s still the same tatty and hideous building but the staff are always friendly and helpful. I had a refurbished room overlooking the cathedral which was very quiet and pleasant. Rooms at the back are noisier. ”

“We stayed at this hotel for one night, coming from London for the reading Festival. We arrived around 12 pm so the rooms were not ready but we could check-in and leave our luggage. The location is fantastic if you're arriving by train as it is right in front of the station. We were back later and were given the room key. Our room was quiet, had a very nice decor and modern appliances. The check-out was at 12 pm, and we really enjoyed that we could sleep a bit longer than the average 11 am check...
