“The Hungry Trout Resort is a classic place to stay if you are interested in fishing the Ausable River. Very convenient with private access to the river. The fly shop on premises is excellent with great guides! The Pub was great in years past but is closed now. I really hope it reopens. The upscale restaurant is very nice with great views of the falls. Overall a solid place to stay without the hustle of staying in Lake Placid but close enough to go there for dinner.”

“Alexandra and Anthonie were both super nice and friendly. When we arrived, they gave us a rundown of nearby restaurants to go and have dinner. Then showed us to our room and amenities. Room and bathroom were clean and comfy, wifi was fast there were extra pillows and blankets if needed. The area around the Inn is very cute, my girlfriend and i went for a walk in the nearby park in the morning and visited the Inn bookstore (we ended up buying 5 books lol). My only complaint is since our window...

“We had an updated room which was very nice and we had a small balcony and great view of the lake and mountains. Loved the complex and easy accessibility to town. Unfortunately the construction impacted the elevators, and made access to the pool less convenient. I get that updates need to happen but it was a shame how much it impacted lots of the shared space. But once it is done we’d definitely come back.”

“Loved the quietness. Very relaxing and close to the Ticonderoga ferry on Lake Champlain on the Vermont side. The owners are very nice. Serves a fabulous breakfast every morning. Has a bar on property as it is a pub and offers food only Thursday to Sunday for an extra cost for those staying at the Inn and some locals in the area. The area is rural and lots of dairy farms in the area. There is an Exxon Mobil station less than a mile away that is quite large. You can also get food there. There is...

“The location was perfect! Close to all the attractions but a nice quiet location. Loved being by able to walk to the Whiteface Ski Resort. The view from the room was stunning. Our room could use a little updating but for the price it couldn’t be beat! The owners are wonderful! Always available and very friendly and welcoming. The room was very clean and we felt very comfortable there! We will definitely go back.”

“The place is nice and was much bigger than expected. It was also really quiet which I appreciated because I am a very poor sleeper. At some point, as I'm sure the owner knows, he will need to recaulk the bathtub in room 3. Also, for $300 a night I would have expected better coffee and creamer that wasn't frozen solid.
