“It is pretty basic, but equiped with all necessities and nicely put together. A cozy cabin with a lot of history. No street noise, no neighbor noise! Just woods, fields and creeks and all their critters. Good place to write, read and rest. No screens. Best for a small family, close friends or a couple. Not much privacy amongst the guests, but very private from the rest of the world! My husband and I loved it and hope to return!”

“My husband and I stayed here for the night to break up our long trip to Avon from NJ. It was a great location and the hosts were very accommodating! It was close to the Wright Brothers Museum, which is definitely worth visiting. It was a beautiful neighborhood, and their dock was very peaceful at night to hang out with a cocktail. 🤗”

“We enjoyed our stay. There was plenty of activities, crabbing was fun, fishing was great as well. Like any other place in America bring sunscreen and bug spray. It wasnt bad just enough to warrant protection. Great outdoor activities and will not have time to do everything. We will be returning next year to continue our adventures.”

“Colette was very friendly and accommodating. Her home and property is gorgeous and very well stocked. We spent 3 nights. 1 day we explored Chincoteague by bike and the second day we explored Cape Charles. We should have stayed longer to kayak and explore the creeks, bay and barrier islands. We spent every night star gazing and every day enjoying the beautiful scenery, nature, birds and wildlife. Thank you Colette for sharing your amazing home💕”

“My husband and I loved our stay at the Whimsical Cottage. We enjoyed the eclectic touches in each room. The view from the porch of the marina/water was beautiful. The beach was around the corner, an easy walk or bike ride. Again, beautiful views. The hosts are so friendly, helpful and went out of their way to welcome us. The town is small and cute.
