“I wanted a low budget one night stay. Although property is old fashioned, my single room, with en suite was very clean and bed was comfortable The breakfast cerea,l yogurt etc was an unexpected bonus. Kettle, microwave and fridge in room. Member of staff on arrival friendly and helpful. I couldn’t get the tv to find any chanels, but not there long enough to enquire about it. Could do with a chair, but overall exactly what i wanted Thank you”

“I stayed 3 nights in this lovely public house (the Sun Inn, Acomb). It didn't have big town amenities, but it was fine for me as I wanted to visit and walk parts of Hadrians Wall. The couple running this enterprise had only taken it over about a month before I stayed, but I think they are doing it brilliantly. A nice atmosphere in the bar. Good choice of breakfast - which was delicious. A small menu for evening food - I tried one of the pasta dishes - again delicious. No car park, but...

“Arrived at the lodge and was greeted by 2 lovely hosts who showed us to our room and was very helpful and told us some very interesting facts about the lodges (an all girls school built before the ww2 I do believe ). “Great for a one night stay but be warned. You have to pay £10 to park your car overnight although I got mine for free due to my Hotels.com membership. Room was very comfortable and had everything we needed. There was a Mini fridge, hairdryer, iron and ironing board and the towels were nice and fluffy (some things you don’t always get). Only complaint was that the heated towel rail in the bathroom was rusty and I couldn’t work out how to turn it on. Would definitely recommend ”
