First, I stayed at the R Hotel for 8 days. The R Hotel is a solid choice when staying in Kingston Jamaica. It clearly tries to get traffic from the S Hotel (Spanish hotel) just down the road but these two hotels are in their own classes. The things I wasn't a fan of.... one of the elevators was not operating properly during my stay so I had to figure out ElevatorGames which just means I had to figure out when the left elevator was going up so I could catch it. It would have been better to just shut down that elevator due to the size and guest count of the hotel. Also, when I asked for laundry service, I asked for my linens to be put on hangers as it is very easy to wrinkle. They placed them in the exact dirty bag I put my clothes in. Only small other item (personal preference) is that I wished the water could have been hotter.
So now for the good parts! The rooms are super clean, great views (albeit Kingston meaning you are in the city and no where near the beach). The rooms were quiet and the staff are all super friendly.
The breakfast was decently tasty and is in line with most major hotels breakfasts btu they did have different foods. Speaking of food.. their Jerk Chicken was AWESOME!!! I ordered it many of the days I stayed. If you go to the restaurant, you have a fantastic view of the city and mountains. I loved just sitting up there having a drink and or eating meals.
Overall, I'd stay here again.
