“A lovely 2 night stay in a country village inn with plenty of parking. We loved the location, our room was clean with a comfy bed, the staff were welcoming and friendly and the food was of good quality. Great for exploring the Northumberland coast, particularly Lindisfarne, Berwick Upon Tweed and Bamburgh Castle - all close by. ”

“We attended a wedding and stayed in the cottage for just one night, was close to the venue clean and tidy slept six. We weren’t in it really just to sleep. The following morning had breakfast at the joiners arms which was beautiful l.”

“Our room was beautiful. It had a king size bed and the en-suite bathroom was a good size. The only downside was that the toilet flush handle was broken but still worked. It could have done with better lighting in the bathroom as you couldn’t see in the mirror very well. The room was immaculately clean and had a sofa and tv with easy to connect to WiFi. Personally I struggled with comfort of the bed as I found it too soft but it was dressed with clean sheets and had extra pillows in the wardrobe....

“The views across the bay from our room were terrific, the food was good, room was spotless and comfortable, ensuite modern. What really made our stay though was the friendliness and helpfulness of the hard working staff.”

“Old established pub on the outskirts of Barnard Castle, within a 15 min walk of it's shopping area. Decorated to a good standard, room was bigger than average, with all the usual facilities in working order. However the bed was very soft & its mattress in need of replacement. Food the usual pub menu & of a reasonable standard. A good cooked breakfast was within the room tariff, making it a good value stay.”
