“We stayed 3 days 11/10-11/13. We were immediately impressed by the house. It was sparkling clean, beautifully decorated down to a wonderful Christmas tree programmed to light at 5PM and stay on 5 hours. Made for a wonderful ambiance. We had a couple of issues maintenance related but both Joe and Judy responded immediately to get those things taken care up. They are very friendly and kind owners. We enjoyed talking to them. The only sad thing is that the weather was crappy! It was very cold...

“Great place to stay with a large group! The hosts have made a beautiful home away from home that had everything we needed!!”

“This place was so warm and cozy. All the little details were considered and we felt very much at home. Very comfortable bed, loved the fireplace and hot tub! Close to town yet on top of a quiet hill. It was perfect and we would very much consider booking here again.”

“We enjoyed sitting on the front porch of this lazy little country town. We did not realize it had more than one unit until after we finalized the reservation but luckily only one other unit had occupants, the last night. We walked to Damascus Old Mill for dinner (yummy-table over the river) and Blue Blazes bike rental is directly across the street if you are riding the Creeper Trail. We would go back again. ”

“The home is a decent distance off the highway but the scenery you'll see while driving to it are gorgeous. On the first day, we saw 3 deer and 2 rabbits! The driveway is very steep and made of gravel, so keep that in mind when choosing what vehicle to bring. If it has been raining, your tires may slip a bit going up. “We went to that area to ride the Virginia creeper Trail bike trail. The location was perfect. The house was spotless and provided an excellent lodging option for four adults. We would definitely rent this place again.”

“Pictures don't do this place justice. Super well taken care of home in the middle of gods country. If you need a place to escape this is it. The home has any extras you might be missing. They have thought of everything. The house and beds are very comfortable. I wish every place I stayed was this nice. Allison the host is really accommodating.she obviously nows how to treat visitors right.I already can't wait for my next visit.Thanks again”

“This house is conveniently located near the Virginia Creeper Trail. While the proximity to the trail is a significant advantage for outdoor enthusiasts, our experience at the house was mixed. The house has a nice kitchen, fully equipped with modern appliances, making meal preparation enjoyable and convenient. “It is a very convenient location. Across the street is the Grocery store with gasoline and the pizza/sandwich shop. Later, we did walk 250 yards to the brewery. Small parking area for a large p/u truck. Biggest drawback is that it is only 15 feet from the main road going through Damascus, which tends to be busy and noisy. And no front or back usable porch..”

“Had a lovely time. House is great and beautifully furnished. Enjoyed all the rooms. Some suggestions: 1. the bunk bed room was freezing cold, might want to add a heat source 2. You should advertise that there are two refrigerators in the kitchen. We loved that, but we all brought large coolers for beverages and they weren’t needed. 3. Problem in the upstairs bathroom, the sink did not drain properly. May want to look at that immediately. 4. Those who used that upstairs bath suggested...

“I very impressed but I will honest when we first pulled it looks very rustic but once inside it was very clean and the bed omg it was like sleeping on a cloud, we loved how we could freely walk the property and we really enjoyed the farm animals which are all very tamed even the chickens lol this place to rent especially if you have kids that go to Emory and Henry College we stayed graduation weekend my mind was at ease because we did not have to deal with any traffic”

“The listing states "step back in time" and that certainly sets the tone. If you are looking for a place to stay where peace and nature are the main features, look no further. Nice accommodations, plenty of heat sources to help you stay warm, kitchen is fairly well stocked with pots, pans, spices, oils to help make meals with. I personally loved the that there was a new kitchen sponge waiting for me (it's the little things). Back porch is covered with a tin roof. We sat out there for over an hour...

“The property was as described. Well stocked, cozy, and perfect for two couples. It is in a great location that is easy to walk or drive to all the area's attractions. We could walk to the shops and eateries in town and easily drive to Bristol. Looking forward to coming back to hike the nearby trails in the future. ”
