Based on many 5 star reviews, my wife and I had really high hopes for this place and were very excited to spend here our 27th wedding anniversary. For this special occasion we have selected a suite with a fireplace to be enjoyed during chilly October nights. Last night, upon arrival we were surprised to find out that the fireplace does not work (outside temperature was in low 50F). After several attempts to contact the facility manager, we were told that the maintenance service person in unreachable and the fireplace cannot be fixed that night, but we were promised that this will be resolved the next day (today). This afternoon I have contacted the manager again to check the status of the fix and was told that nothing could be done due to the fact that the maintenance person is still unavailable. The manager then promised to find a different resolution to this problem however she needed to contact the owner for approval. After few minutes the manager called us back and advised that the fireplaces do not get turned on unless the temperatures drop below 75F. Now it is the end of the second day of our stay here with temperatures at night drooping to mid 40F. After contacting the manager again, we were told that there is absolutely nothing that can be done to help us and if do not like it, we can contact Expedia (our booking portal) directly. We have stayed in many Inn’s / bed & breakfast places all over the world and never experienced such a poor service.
