Perfect in every way!
We had a wonderful ten day stay here, it is a uniquely beautiful place and we would love to come back in the future. The pool is absolutely beautiful with stunning views over the mountains. The living areas are exceptionally clean and renovated to a high standard while respecting the history of the building. It is beautifully preserved and very comfortable. The rubber tree in the courtyard gives shade during the day and is lovely to sit under to eat / play games. The two bedrooms are split across the courtyard and this was perfect for us as a family with teenage children, everyone had their space. The village is authentic Crete and there are plenty of places to eat in the mountains or down along the seafront. Beaches are also in easy reach as well as the lake where the terapins were a hit with our children. Didier is a respectful and friendly host, on hand for any questions or advice on the area but very unobtrusive. His cats and 2 dogs are very well behaved and nice to have around. We visited 6 beaches during our stay, all beautiful and great for snorkeling. It was a perfect break, really sad to leave!

Schönes Haus nahe Rethimno
Das schöne Haus liegt in den Bergen 25 min von Rethimno über gute Strassen ohne viel Gekurbel zu erreichen. In einem Weiler mit kleinem Supermarkt und Bäcker gelegen, sehr schöner Innenhof, ein großer Pool, der sehr nette Besitzer wohnt in einem anderen Teil des Hauses am Pool. Gutes Wlan. Man kann hier schöne Ausflüge an die Küste, nach Chania und im 45 min an die Südküste machen. 5min entfernt eine tolle Taverne in Rustica.

PISCINE AVEC VUE SUR COLLINES
Gite atypique. Déconnection assurée. Cour ombrée très agréable. Piscine appréciable lors des chaudes journée. Très bien placé à 20 mn des plages du nord et 30 mn de celles du sud, et central pour rayonner dans la région. Didier est un hôte très agréable et discret. Nous recommandons vivement.

Wunderschöne Unterkunft
Die Unterkunft liegt günstig zwischen Nord- und Südküste, sodass man beide in ca 3 Minuten erreicht. Der Vermieter wohnt zwar im gleichen Gebäude, ist aber sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit, aber keinesfalls aufdringlich und den Innenhof hat man ganz für sich.

Liebevoll renoviertes Haus
Die Fewo liegt sehr ruhig in den Bergen. Ohne Auto geht nichts. Man ist aber innerhalb von einer halben Stunde an der Nord oder Südküste. Der Vermieter ist sehr nett und unkompliziert. Wir würden jederzeit wieder dorthin fahren.

Petit paradis au vert et loin des foules
Vous aimez le calme, les cigales et la vie locale? Ce lieu était parfait, pour nos vacances en famille. Didier notre hôte, est très sympathique, discret et de bon conseil. Superbe piscine privative au milieu des oliviers avec une vue imprenable sur la nature Crétoise. les Pièces de vie sont spacieuses et très bien équipées. Le Patio privatif est très agréable et ombragé a souhait pour profiter des repas estivales a la "fraiche". Véhicules impératifs. Commerces de proximité a 500 mètres, Plages a 15Km Wie haben uns vom ersten Tag an wie zuhause gefûhlt......Wir werden gerne wiederkommen! Vielen Dank fûr den fantastischen Aufenthalt.

Beautiful setting in a small village. Views across to the hills to the south and plenty of nearby places to explore. Five minute walk to the local bakery, so fresh, warm bread every morning. also there is a small shop with its own butchery attached. Top quality pork chops - like they used to be.

Ferienhaus mit Flair
Wir waren 10 Tage in diesem wunderschönen Ferienhaus. Die Lage: Ruhig in einem kleinen Dorf. Mit dem Auto ist man in 15 Minuten an verschiedenen Tarvernen. Zum Strand sind es ca 30 Minuten. Wer Abends ein Trubel möchte ist in 25 Minuten in Rethymnon. Das Haus: Idylle pur. Zentraler Punkt ist der tolle Innenhof mit dem Schatten spendenen Baum in der Mitte. Von dort gehen die Räume ab. Alles im Innehof gut beleuchtet, das man dort gemeinsam auch mal was machen kann. Das ist nicht überall so. Alle Zimmer haben einen Mückenschutz an den Fenstern, somit kann man wunderbar Nachts durchlüften. Der Pool liegt im grünen mit vernünftigen Schirmen und Liegen. Alles neu. Einziger Kritikpunkt, eventuell sollten die Untensilien in der Küche ein wenig erweitert werden und das Wlan für die social media Generation ist zu schwach ! Didier als Gastgeber ist immer erreichbar bei Problemen oder Fragen, ansonsten ist man ungestört. Fazit: Tolle Unterkunft, toller Pool, 100% Weiterempfehlung.

Ein kleines Paradies in zentraler Insellage
Unser Feriendomizil hat wesentlich dazu beigetragen, dass wir einen wunderschönen Kreta-Urlaub genossen haben. Die zentrale Lage des Hauses, der Pool als Alternative zum Meer, der charmante Innenhof als willkommene Pause im Schatten oder für einen ausklingenden Abend. Für die Küche war alles da, was man so braucht. Falls wir eine Frage hatten, war Monsieur Lamarre immer ansprechbar und gab uns wertvolle Tipps. Wir vermissen Nikiforou Foka und werden nicht das letzte Mal dort gewesen sein.

Schöne Ruheoase in den Bergen
Wir wurden sehr freundlich von Hr. Lamarre empfangen. Er wohnt mit seinen drei gut erzogenen zurückhaltenden Hunden ebenfalls auf dem Anwesen, ist aber kaum wahrnehmbar. Das Anwesen war Dank Google Maps problemlos zu finden. Wer die Ruhe sucht ist hier genau richtig. In ca. 15 Minuten ist man aber an einem der vielen Strände und in gut 20 Minuten ist man in Rethymnon. In dem kleinen Ort gibt es einen Mini-Markt. Die Restaurants mussten leider wegen Corona schließen. In 10 Minuten Fahrtzeit gibt es jedoch schöne Tavernen. Die Unterkunft war geräumig und sehr sauber. Bei großer Hitze spendet der Gummibaum im Innenhof ausreichend Schatten. Der schöne Innenhof ist der zentrale gemütliche Platz, von welchem sich alle Räumlichkeiten der Unterkunft erschließen. Vom Pool aus hat man einen großartigen Blick auf die umliegenden Berge. Wir verbrachten einen wunderschönen, erholsamen und abwechslungsreichen Urlaub und können die Unterkunft auf jeden Fall weiterempfehlen. Wir kommen gerne wieder. Vielen Dank an Hr. Lamarre.

Wonderful start of our Crete Holiday
We had the pleasure to stay at this beautiful house at the beginning of our month in Crete. I was just perfect for us! Didier was very welcoming and allways helpful! Our little baby loved the warm pool and we enjoyed every minute in the shadow under the big tree in the lovely backyard! If you look for a calm place to chill and enjoy a nice view over The Valley book it ;)

Paradise in Crete
We loved staying here! The property is an old mill building in the quiet village of Agios Konstadinos in the Rethymno region of Crete. The property comprises a double bedroom, bathroom and kitchen and then across a beautiful courtyard where we spent many an evening eating, chatting and playing games, a further twin room with toilet and sink etc. There is a great pool which has to have the best view of any pool I've ever swam in - surrounded by mountains. Locally, there is a bakery and a mini-market and it is only a 20 minute drive to the large (and vibrant) town of Rethymno. You can choose which coast you prefer - the quieter, wilder South Coast and the resort of Plakias or the slightly more touristy north coast and the resorts of Episkopi and Georgiopoulis. There is also stunning Lake Kournas within easy driving distance. It would not be advisable to stay at the property without a car. If you happen to be into cycling (I am!) then you have so much to choose from right from the beautiful lavender-blue front door! As a host, Didier was attentive (he lives on site in a separate area) but always respectful of our privacy. We couldn't have asked for more. Overall, we cannot recommend this property highly enough. We will definitely return!

Es war einfach gut hier. Alles sehr natürlich und angenehm. Der Gastgeber ist aufmerksam und zurückhaltend zugleich. Wir hatten eine wundervolle Woche. Wir empfehlen diesen Urlaubsort nur mit Auto zu wählen, da man ohne nicht weg kommt.

Schön renoviertes Ferienobjekt. Die Einrichtung ist schlicht aber sauber und passt gut zum Gebäude. Der Pool ist groß und super schön. Sehr netter und freundlicher Gastgeber. Das Haus ist absolut empfehlenswert.

Herrlich - Kreta pur
Die alte Mühle ist ein Kleinod Kretas - von Herrn Lamarre in 8 Jahren liebevoll renoviert. Der kleine Ort liegt mit dem Auto (unbedingt erforderlich) ca 20 Minuten von der Nord- und ca 35 Min von der Südküste (Plakias) entfernt. Ein kleiner Supermarkt und ein Bäcker sind vorhanden, zwei Kaffees und eine Taverne gibt es auch. Die Unterkunft liegt wunderbar ruhig im Ort. Unterteilt ist sie in 3 eigene Räume über den eigenen, baumbeschatteten Innenhof voneinander getrennt in zwei klimatisierte Schlafzimmer (eines hat eine Dusche, das andere nur ein WC) und die gut ausgestattete Küche. Der Pool liegt im Garten mit vielen Oliven- und Zitronenbäumen, Granatäpfeln und Kaktusfeigen, nur kurz an der Küche vom sehr netten und unkomplizierten Vermieter vorbei. Die drei Hunde sind sehr schmusig und absolut lieb. WLan ist eigentlich nur in einem Schlafzimmer gut zu empfangen, im Innenhof, Küche und am Pool gehts nicht - aber im Urlaub ist der Blick auch lieber auf die traumhafte Landschaft vom Pool aus gerichtet. Herr Lamarre ist kaum zu sehen und sehr zurückhaltent, für Fragen aber jederzeit ansprechbar und hat mir eine Flasche seines eigenen Öls geschenkt - nochmal herzlichen Dank!!! Es war ein wunderschöner Urlaub in Ihrem Haus und wir kommen sehr gerne wieder!!! Für Kreta Liebhaber und Ruhesuchende auch mit älteren Kindern ein ideales Ferienhaus!!

Des vacances comme on les aime ....
Nous avons été enchantés par cette location loin des chaînes hôtelières typique dans un petit village crétois Agios Constandinos. Nous nous sommes sentis comme chez nous avec tout le confort nécessaire pour vivre à l'heure grecque. La maison qui est en 2 parties (cuisine au rdc avec chambre parentale et sdb a l'étage / 2ème chambre à part avec 2 lits simples plus bergère et wc/lavabo). Nous avons beaucoup apprécié de prendre notre petit-déjeuner dans la cour joliment arborée ou de nous baigner à notre guise. Quelle vue superbe de la piscine !!! Notre hôte, Didier, est une personne charmante,très discret, disponible et de très bons conseils (visites, plages, taverna ...). Romain se languit déjà de ses 4 petits compagnons (Lulu, Lilas, Jacky et Yota). Une taverna est toute proche à pied ainsi qu' une boulangerie et une petite épicerie qui fait également boucherie. La location est très bien située pour visiter le Nord tout comme le sud. Merci Didier ! Les Avignonnais

Schön gelegene Wohlfühl-Unterkunft
Wir haben den Urlaub in der Unterkunft von Mr. Lamarre sehr genossen. Das Haus ist wie beschrieben, sehr sauber und geschmackvoll eingerichtet. Mr. Lamarre ist ein sehr freundlicher, diskreter und hilfsbereiter Gastgeber. Das Haus befindet sich in hervorragender Lage um sowohl den Nordwesten als auch den Süden der Insel schnell zu erkunden. Die schönen Städte Chania und Rethimnon sind in ca. einer halben Stunde zu erreichen. Wir empfehlen eine Schiffstour von Kissamos nach Balos sowie den schönen Strand (und die Tavernen) von Damnoni bei Plakias auf der Südseite der Insel. Wir danken Mr. Lamarre für seine Gastfreundschaft und können die Unterkunft uneingeschränkt empfehlen! Jeannette und Dieter

Tres beau et bon séjour , accueil épatant!
Tout d’abord un très bon accueil par Monsieur Didier Lamarre Qui est un Hôte généreux disponible et connaissant tres bien son pays d’adoption. Et puis l’hebergement, au coeur d’un village typique, au charme desuet et à la tranquillité assurée. Pourtant on y trouve, ouverts en permanence, une boulangerie, une épicerie boucherie et deux cafés. Il y a aussi l’indispensable « taverna » ou l’on peut manger pour des prix défiants toute concurrence. L’emplacement de la maison permet de naviguer entre côte sud et nord et pouvoir decouvrir toutes les fabuleuses plages Cretoises de l’ouest. Vivement recommandée!

Urlaub pur von der ersten bis zur letzten Minute
Das Anwesen befindet sich in einem kleinen Bergdorf in absoluter Ruhe. Am Ort gibt es einen Bäcker, einen kleinen Supermarkt mit frischem Feta und diverse Tavernen. Außerdem kommen regelmäßig Fisch- und Gemüsehändler vorbei. Ideale Ausgangslage für Ausflüge zur Nord- oder Südküste sowie Wanderungen (Der Wanderweg E4 führt direkt am Haus vorbei). Auf dem Grundstück hat man einen seperaten Bereich mit sehr schönem Innenhof. Alle Räume sind geschmackvoll und funktionell eingerichtet. Wäsche wird wöchentlich gewechselt. Strandmatten und Sonnenschirme stehen zur Verfügung. Am Pool hat man einen herrlichen Ausblick auf die Berge. Eigentlich müsste man das Grundstück gar nicht verlassen, wenn es nicht sonst auch noch so viel Schönes auf der Insel zu entdecken gäbe. Wir würden jederzeit gerne wieder kommen.

Nous avons passé une semaine très agréables dans un environnement délicieusement calme et beau. Didier nous a très bien accueilli avec beaucoup de gentillesse et de discrétion. Nous le remercions.
