Hotel a Royalla

“Best hotel we've stayed in in Australia. Lovely 1920s building, helpful staff, attractive bar, good location for many sites and on a number of bus routes (Canberra is not a very pedestrian-friendly city). Only quibble would be that, as one of the, possibly the, leading hotel(s) in the Commonwealth capital, a wider selection of Australian wines, and notably some from the smaller wine regions (for example, Beechworth, VIC) could be available.”

“The room felt muggy in spite of turning down the temperature and opening windows, we could not sleep. Soon after arrival there was loud drilling next door as they did repairs, then a strange man knocked on the door because he wanted to check our toilet for "stickers." The breakfast was a huge disappointment. We stayed here some years ago and remembered it as great but alas it is now the same wet eggs and soggy bacon you can get anywhere. “I had an issue with the drain in my shower not draining properly and after reporting the issue a 2nd time it was attended to and fixed. The staff are always friendly.”

“We had 2 joining rooms, which was great for 5 people, having extra Cot was great. Kitchenette, washer, dishwasher fridge. Was very good, too bad we had to stay only one night.”

“Comfortable basic motel in Forrest. Clean, comfortable bed, well located just 10 minutes walk to Manuka and restaurants. Supplied some crockery and cutlery which was useful.”

“Centrally located in Tuggeranong close to food outlets, shopping and clubs. Plenty of parking and the staff are professional and friendly. The room was very clean and large. Only downside was the elevator noise.”

“Pleasant reception staff on arrival. Room a good size and had a great view over the lake. Would stay there again if in the area. My pet peeve is where the range of pump soap/conditioner etc are mounted in poor locations. It was difficult for me to use the soap dispenser beside the hand basin as it had been installed against the frame of the mirror. It was no deal breaker, just a peeve!”
