Monkeys & Parrots Lush Paradise (New Add)

El Tucan è moderno, bello e straordinariamente accessibile a una fiorente comunità sulla spiaggia con ristoranti, bar, spa, centro velico locale, massaggi sulla spiaggia, lezioni di yoga e altro ancora. Il giardino è una giungla tropicale in miniatura in cui è possibile rilassarsi e disconnettersi dalle pressioni della vita quotidiana.

Abbiamo un custode che vive nella proprietà per comodità e sicurezza. Un portiere è a disposizione per organizzare tutte le vostre escursioni e avventure in Costa Rica.

La nostra villa privata è di circa 1600 piedi quadrati su due piani con due camere da letto e due bagni. Ogni camera offre un patio / solarium privato dove è possibile rilassarsi sui lettini seducenti. La camera da letto principale offre porte in vetro a doppio scorrimento alte 14 piedi dal pavimento al soffitto. Svegliati con un'incredibile vista tropicale con i suoni dell'oceano, scimmie urlatrici e pappagalli verdi.

La pulizia, il giardinaggio, il servizio in piscina e la sicurezza in loco (24/7) sono forniti da Marling e Francisco.

Favorite Vacation
My boyfriend and I came here to celebrate my 30th birthday and we loved our stay in this beautiful oasis. We really enjoyed the location and the privacy of the condo. It was very clean and comfortable. We would love to come back to this exact spot because we enjoyed it so much. Pura Vida! ❤️

Nice location
Very close to a beautiful beach, close to some restaurants and one small market. Recommend getting car as ither places arw not walking distance. Unit is comfortable and well air conditioned. The beds were not great, though. And we had to use the pull out couch in the livibgroom which wasnt very comfortable. Only other issues is that jacuzzi does not get heated, even though advertised as useable. Lastly, cleaning products like soap and detergent were very watered down. But overall a good unit for families with plenty of space and goid location!

Amazing stay in potrero
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at El Tuscan. The property is even better than the pictures portray. The area was lovely,the staff was attentive and quick to respond. We especially loved being able to walk to our favorite restaurants each night. Property was very kid friendly but also relaxing and enjoyable for adults. Highly recommend this property to anyone looking in potrero area.

Fabulous location! Close to the beach. The outdoor seating areas were great. Both rooms had balconies and 2 outdoor seating areas very private. Pool was very relaxing after a day at the beach.

Relaxing pool and beach spot!
This home was private yet close to the essentials. Playa Portrero is a small beach town with a handful of restaurants and small markets. Perfect if you're looking to be somewhat secluded but still have what you need. The pool was nearly private with only 3 other units sharing the space. The beach was not even a 5 minute walk away and never had more than ~30 people on it at once. The home itself was actually better than the pictures show, the master bedroom is gorgeous and the balconies make it so fun!

Culture shock - grateful for this paradise getaway
Call us ignorant travelers from the States but we truly did not have any clue what to expect when we landed in Costa Rica. A nighttime drive in a rental car from Liberia airport and an adventurous ride down Monkey Trail (avoid at all costs!), we were relieved when we walked through the secure front gate to Stef Surf property. Our own gorgeous paradise! Immaculately clean and thankful for the A/C units! Weather is quite humid but our unit was not. El Toucan unit was on the end and I would say the most private of all 4 units. Grounds were also immaculate and the maintenance and landscaping staff were hard working but also attentive to guests staying there. Francisco checked on us and was most pleasant while Tony, our contact with property management, was quick to reply to any communications. WhatsApp is a MUST to have.

Stef Surf Tucan
Stef Surf Tucan was a great place to stay. The rooms were spacious with great outdoor patios to sit and enjoy the scenery. We had options of the pool with beautiful tropical scenery at the villa or a short walk to the beach. The villa is located just a couple of blocks away from several great places to eat. There is also a small store located even closer that we bought some groceries to cook. Our trip was made even more enjoyable with the help from our host Tony Gonzalez. This was our first trip to Costa Rica. He met us the first day and was always available through Whatsapp. I don't think we could have asked for a better host. The food was great everywhere. My favorite meals were probably lunch at Coco Loco (Mar y Sol ) and breakfast at the Surf Box (La Mexicana). That said, we ate at The Shack several times and other places. I'd highly recommend coming. Pura Vida!

It was a very guiet and relaxing property. Pool was in close proximate and only a few minute walk from the beach. It was also a gated community/area so felt very safe. Enjoy some quiet downtime here when we were back from visiting beach and surrounding areas.

Tropical retreat in Surf Side
Nestled within the Surf Side Community, this picturesque property offers a tropical oasis experience. With four units connected like duplexes, a shared pool creates a serene atmosphere. The friendly groundskeeper and his assistant are always ready to assist. The road leading to the property is unpaved, so caution is advised. The beach is a short walk away–turn left, then right, then left again, and you're there. The dark sand may stick to you, but it's soft. We had the beach to ourselves most days. Not the greatest beach. The unit could use some updates, kitchen sink hardware is loose and the stove vent goes nowhere. The fridge is in good condition, but shelves are missing on the inside of the door. Bedrooms and bathrooms are well-appointed, and towels are plentiful. Our host, Tony, was exceptional. He promptly responded to our questions and offered suggestions through WhatsApp. Overall, the property provided a comfortable stay for our family. With its amenities and proximity to stunning beaches, it made for an unforgettable vacation.

Paradise!
I cannot begin to express just how incredible our stay at Stef Surf El Tucan was! From the moment we stepped foot into this lush, tropical oasis, we knew we were in for a treat. The attention to detail and high-end furnishings in El Tucan left us feeling like we were staying in a luxury resort, yet with the added benefit of complete privacy. Each evening, we eagerly made our way to the beach, a short 3 minute walk, to witness the mesmerizing colours of the setting sun painting the sky in hues of gold and pink. It was truly a magical experience. The unit itself is thoughtfully designed with beautiful outdoor spaces that allowed us to fully immerse ourselves in the sights and sounds of the surrounding nature. The master bedroom was a peaceful haven, with the gentle sound of waves breaking on the beach and bird signing. My sleep in the primary room was incredible. The cozy living and dining area, hammocks and daybeds, and the refreshing pool with a jacuzzi all contributed to making our stay exceptionally comfortable and enjoyable. We were provided with everything we needed for our stay, from beach chairs and umbrellas to comfortable linens and a well stocked kitchen – they really thought of everything! I must mention the caring and attentive caretaker, Francisco, who is truly wonderful. Stef Surf El Tucan has set the bar high for future vacation rentals and we will be dreaming about it until our return! If you're seeking an unforgettable getaway, look no further!

Great last unit in a group of 4. Playa Potrero is a short walk away. Other cool beaches such as Danita and Conchal are a short drive and hike. Nice location if you want a quiet, uncrowded get away.

An outstanding Hideaway!
Close to the beach without the hustle and bustle of too many tourists. Clean, spacious, modern and amazing condo. Beautiful pool and garden area. Close to great restaurants and other beaches. Would highly recommend.

Oasis
Beautiful private secure property. The unit was perfect for us. The spiral staircase was a tad intimidating at first, but we managed just fine. The kitchen had all of the utensils and dishes that we needed. The beach is a short walk away as are a grocery store and restaurants (go to Chillaxing - food is amazing and Victor and Gavin are welcoming). The mattress in the second bedroom could use an upgrade - I added padding to it using an extra mattress pad and other linen, as we found it uncomfortable for our old tired bones. The grounds keepers were pleasant and took great care of the lush vegetation and pool area. Warning: we didn't receive the check-in information until less than 24 hours prior to check-in, which was causing us some concern - but everything worked out great - so don't panic.

Fantastic Stay!
Our stay at Stef Surf was amazing. The condo was beautiful and had everything we needed for a one week stay. The caretakers, Francisco and his wife, were incredible - they were friendly and always had a smile for our family. We came to look forward to our daily interactions with them because they were a joy to be around. The house is a 5 minute walk to Potrero beach, of all the beaches we visited this one was our favorite. My kids enjoyed looking for shells and the milder waves. The sunsets were incredible each night. It was also less crowded than the other nearby beaches. We would definitely recommend staying here and will do so ourselves!

A lovely stay at Stef Surf
We spent a wonderful month in the El Tucan villa at Stef Surf. High praise for the caretakers, Francisco and Marlin - they made us welcome, comfortable and nothing was too much trouble - they even put up with my very poor Spanish attempts with great humour and patience. Gorgeous tropical gardens lead you to the villa with many birds and a few iguanas hidden away. The pool was very zen-like and with only 4 villas sharing, we usually had it to ourselves. We had friends join us during our stay and really appreciated all four of the private outdoor spaces for some down time during the hottest part of the day. The villa has a very well-equipped kitchen, comfortable seating everywhere and very comfortable beds. The master bedroom is spectacular with the 14 foot windows overlooking the gardens and pool area and the balcony was a great place to birdwatch early in the morning. Just a heads-up for anyone with mobility issues - there is no bathroom on the main floor and one of our friends found the circular staircase a bit of a challenge - especially at night. We loved the town of Petrero - the restaurants, little grocery stores and a couple of beach bars all within walking distance. We felt very comfortable walking everywhere and found the local people very friendly and helpful. Playa Petrero may not be the prettiest beach around but we loved it - a three minute walk away meant many morning coffees and sunset cocktails were spent on the beach, watching the local fishermen, the hundreds of pelicans, as well as a huge variety of other birds cruising up and down the sand. It's a great walking beach especially when the tide is out! Our villa very conveniently had some great beach chairs that we could throw on our backs for the brief walk to the beach - much, much appreciated! We loved visiting many of the other beaches nearby - our favorites were Pesca, Danta, and Dantita which were all very lovely as well as quiet. Conchal and Tamarindo were also great - just busier and had quite a few vendors coming by. Bottom line - I look forward to visiting again soon!

Beautiful weekend at el toucan
We loved our short stay at Stef surf. We stayed in the el toucan villa. It is the last villa in a line of 4 villas so we had ultimate privacy. Great space. Loved all the outdoor seating areas including a gorg balcony off both bedrooms. Perfect for morning coffee with the birds. Loved having a grea kitchen and a washer dryer. Caretaker is super friendly and helpful. Only con... what we thought was a hot tub was really a cold pool with jets Other than that it was a blissful stay. Pura vida

Hard To Leave!!
I did a lot of research before this trip. When we got to stef surf it was exactly what I imagined. Francisco the caretaker of stef surf was a very kind man who made sure everything was in working order. Lis the concierge set up a private dinner for us the 1st night we came in. It was simply delicious and worth it!! We ended up going to a to all the local beaches, Potrero, Penca, Prieta, Danta, and Sugar beach. All the beaches were great and perfect for anyone. Sugar beach hotel for lunch is a must! Best chicken tacos!! Congo zip line rocked!! Wife and I were the only ones at the park. Palo verde tour was fun seeing crocs, monkeys, and a variety of birds.Restaurants... las brisas was great! Mow the owner was a cool dude who took care of us. Surf box for breakfast! Natasha the owner chatted with us about the local beaches and life. Challah French toast is a must. I would highly recommend ending ending your vacation with a sunset cruise with serendipity charters. Hands down the best cruise you will ever go on! We definitely we will coming back to stef surf and hope to bring more friends and family with us!

Lovely property, location and people
Our family of four thoroughly enjoyed our stay at El Tucan in Stef Surf. The town home is lovely and well-appointed, and a very short walk to the beach. We enjoyed sitting on the balcony and listening to the birds, surf crashing and howler monkeys in the distance. We appreciated that Potrero is not over-developed, so you truly get a feel for the local culture and people. Francisco and Marling were so lovely, and we felt very secure at the property. Lis was extremely warm and helpful in getting us oriented and recommending activities our family would enjoy. We alternated days at the local beaches with days of off-site activities. We would recommend both Buena Vista Lodge near Rincon de Vieja for adventure activities, and the sunset sail on the Lazy Lizard, whihc was arranged by Lis. Playa Flamingo and Playa Penca, each just a short drive from Stef Surf, were our favorite beaches for swimming and body-surfing. We ate at many of the local restaurants recommended by Greg and Gladys, and especially enjoyed the breakfast at Surf Box, the pina coladas and beautiful setting at Limonda, and the delicious food at El Castillo. The kids enjoyed going to Pearl's for dinner, as there are many games and activities for them to enjoy. One of the highlights of the trip was a sunset dinner at Gracia at Vista Mar. There is an infinity pool with a swim-up bar to enjoy before dinner, and then a fabulous dinner overlooking Flamingo. Frankie, the chef and owner, was onsite and very attentive. The food was fabulous and reasonably priced. Thanks to Cathy at the local brewery in Potrero (really good beers and homemade root beer for the kiddos) for the recommendation. Overall, a very relaxing and fun vacation.

Relaxing, secluded stay at Playa Potrero, Costa Rica
We enjoyed our stay at El Tucan, a peaceful, secluded spot for our first Costa Rica vacation. Property caretakers Francisco and Marling are very helpful and friendly, always available to assist and offer a friendly greeting. The concierge services provided by Lis are excellent. She assisted with setting up a day-trip to Hacienda Guachipelin at Rincon de la Vieja, as well as a day-trip to Palo Verde. Great Fun! Another highlight was a cooking lesson and chef's dinner with local chef Roy Saenz. Highly recommend this treat! We loved the proximity to so many casual, delicious restaurants. The Costa Rica Sailing Center is a great gathering spot, and we also enjoyed yoga at Bahia del Sol. The walk to the beach from the property is a bit rugged, and the sand of Playa Potrero was not our favorite, but the water was fantastic and the sunsets beautiful. We did enjoy driving to other beaches and exploring the area in our rental car. The property was clean and well-maintained and staff was attentive. Greg and Gladys were very responsive and made booking easy. The information packet provided was full of great details. Thanks!

Met every expectation....and then some.
What a relaxing home for a vacation. The home and grounds were immaculate. The kitchen was well stocked and house was spacious. We got into a routine of getting up, eating breakfast on the patio, heading to one of the beaches and usually going out to lunch at one of the nearby restaurants. We'd then take a little drive to check out the surrounding area and head back to the home to spend the afternoon in the partly shaded pool. We have a 6 year old, and the shaded pool was perfect to be able to get out of the sun during the peak of the day. At sunset we'd walk over to the beach and play games there or just walk along and enjoy thr fairly empty beach. Then back to the home for dinner outside before returning to the beach for long moonlit walks as the beach gets very wide and plenty lit during full moon and low tide. One day we rented a sailboat from the Sailing Center. I believe it was $80 an hour and well worth it. A place we really enjoyed eating was at Limoncello for lunch. They had great juices and smoothies along with a very good atmosphere. If you're looking for a great vacation and not on the crowded Flamingo Beach, this is really close and has everything you need to relax. We highly recommend this place.
