Our space: Since pets are welcome to stay at the lodge, you can enjoy Tomahawk with the ENTIRE family! Cook up legendary feasts in the fully outfitted kitchen, spark up some competition with our selection of board games, or cast a line right off our pier. The lodge has four kayaks and two canoes available for you and your group to explore the miles of shoreline and tributaries the Sprit River Flowage has to offer. Kick back and have family movie night in the theater room or spacious living room by the fireplace. Catch up with friends or family in the screened-in porch leading out to the spacious deck. Grab a stick and roast up s’mores around the fire pit overlooking the water. Sunsets are simply breathtaking down by the pier. Feel free to bring your own boat and dock it at the lodge for easy access to the flowage.
What you have access to: The entire lodge and property are open for guests to enjoy. Make yourself at home! We have a pier for your boat, kayaks and canoes, paddles and life vests, yard games, a charcoal grill, two firepits, and ample parking for your entire group.

What is in the area: The Spirit River Reservoir has an endless amount of shoreline and water to explore via kayak, canoe, or snowmobile. With a maximum depth of 25 feet and a length of almost 9 miles, you will find an endless amount of panfish, largemouth and smallmouth bass, northern pike, walleye, and the coveted Wisconsin musky. There are four boat launches located on the reservoir, one located a four minute drive from the property. There are two snowmobile trails close by, one 3.5 miles away and another 4.5 miles away, all within access from the property by snowmobile (ditch riding required). During the summer, there are hundreds of miles of ATV/UTV trails to explore. Tomahawk is a ATV/UTV friendly town.
There are TONS of lakes to explore. Lake Mohawksin, Nakomis, Alice and the Wisconsin River are all located around Tomahawk and offer excellent fishing and boating opportunities. The historical Hiawatha Trail is a beautiful trail to explore. Timms Hill is the highest overlook in Wisconsin, and is located only 20 minutes away. Rib Mountain/Granite Peak Ski Area is the Midwests LARGEST ski hill and is within an hour of the lodge. Copper Falls is a breathtaking waterfall hike and is 2 hours away (a great day trip).
We have a personalized list of local recommendations for restaurants and things to do which we will send to you upon booking. There are lots of supper clubs and different restaurants to explore.
Getting around/Trail info: The lodge is located only 12 minutes from downtown Tomahawk via Highway 86, 17 minutes from Highway 51, and only 20 minutes from Timm's Hill Observation Tower (highest lookout in Wisconsin). There are four boat launches located on the reservoir, one located just four minutes east via Highway 86. You are free to use our pier for easy access to the flowage. There are two snowmobile/riding trails close by, one 3.5 miles away and another 4.5 miles away, all within access from the property by snowmobile or ATV/UTV
An important note - in late fall to early spring, the water depth fluctuates to allow for snow/ice melt in the flowage. The water level fluctuates four to six feet in late fall to early spring, but does not noticeably fluctuate in the warmer months (early April-mid October). Swimming is always safe and there is little to no current. For current water level reports on the Spirit River Flowage, search "Wisconsin Valley Improvement Company", go to the "Reservoirs" tab, and click "Water Level Reports". Use the down-menu to select "Spirit Reservoir".
-There are neighbors to this lodge, but the lodge is very much secluded from them. There is no shortage of privacy.
-No pets are allowed on beds or furniture. Please bring a bed for your pet. A $30/night charge will be added to your booking if you bring a pet. Guest must disclose to the host if they are bringing pets prior to check-in.
-The Spirit River Flowage varies in water depth throughout the year. To check current depth, search "WVIC water level reports" and select "Spirit River Reservoir", and adjust the dates to the month your reservation is in. Then click "View Chart". The water depth has never prevented us from enjoying the lodge!
- Check in time is 4:00 P.M. on the first day of the booking.
- Check-out time is 11:00 A.M. on the last day of the booking. Please follow the check-out instructions in your guidebook.
-Please refrain from using shoes inside the lodge. Thank you!
-Do not dispose grease down drains.
-Do not dispose anything but toilet paper in toilets.
- Guests are required to communicate with the host.
-Ensure all fires and grills are extinguished before vacating the property or going to bed.
- Only the number of people are allowed to stay at the lodge as accepted in the original booking.
- Events are not allowed on the property. Feel free to contact Ben for any questions.
- A maximum of 3 pets are allowed to stay at the lodge. Be sure to bring their own beds and toys. Any damages caused by pets will be charged back to your reservation. An initial $60/night charge will be added to your booking which will count for 2 nights of pet fees if you bring a pet. An additional $30/night will be added for each night past two nights in your booking. Pet fees are $30/night if you bring a pet. Guest must disclose to the host if they are bringing pets prior to check-in.
- Keep in mind when bringing a boat that the Spirit River Flowage fluctuates in water level throughout the year. Primarily during the fall and winter months, the water level is lowered to prevent flooding during the spring months. We typically do not see issues throughout the summer, but it is important to plan ahead. To check current and historical water levels, search "WVIC water levels". Once you find the water levels page, select "Spirit River Reservoir", and adjust the dates to the month your reservation is in. You can also see historical data. Then click "View Chart". We are not responsible for any fluctuation in water level in the flowage. Guests are to understand that it is their responsibility to review the water level and it will not result in a refund if in the case the water is low.
- Pets are *not* allowed on furniture or the beds.
- No smoking is allowed inside the lodge. Dispose any butts in a can or bottle.
- Quiet hours are between 9:00 P.M. and 10:00 A.M.. Please respect our neighbors!
- No fires in the fire pit should exceed 4' in height. Do not accelerate fires with gas/oil/etc.
- No parking on the grass. You may use the grass to turn trailers around, but please do not park there.
- Most importantly, HAVE FUN!
