Convenient location, good value
Overall, we had a pleasant stay.
The check-in process wasn’t too difficult, although we were told the inner apartment would be unlocked for us when we arrived and it wasn’t. Thankfully, it just took a quick call to the manager and she unlocked it for us immediately. I’d suggest updating your instructions on this.
The location isn’t too bad. It’s a short walk to Gastown, and then into the downtown area which we appreciated and found very quite convenient. The only issue we had was with the smell and people loitering nearby. However, in my search to find a place this is common everywhere in Vancouver so you just have to use your common sense when going out and coming in.
The apartment had everything we needed and it was also pretty quiet, day and night. Our only issue was with the bed. Just as we were going to bed, we noticed one corner of the mattress was wedged down into the frame. That’s when we discovered the bed slats underneath were completely out of place which left the mattress resting precariously on the edges of the bed frame. It was difficult to fix (it took us nearly 10 minutes), but if we hadn’t done so the mattress would have collapsed through the frame.
We were fairly happy with the place in the end. It’s pretty good value for what you get and would recommend it if you’re looking for accommodation in Vancouver that’s close to downtown.
