The chalet was built in 1928 with local stone from Pelion and has a special architectural design and was recently completely renovated (2016). The view is impressive and the interior of the chalet boasts the romance of another era with all modern-day comforts. The property has two floors and a garden (1000 sqm). The chalet is rented as a whole, but also separately, that is, only the lower floor because it is possible to isolate one floor from the other,so It is possible to rent only the ground floor.
The chalet it was one of the houses of K. Panagiotopoulos, an important local tobacco merchant. Panagiotopoulos used the Mansion as a place of relaxation to invite his various friends and legendary personalities of his time.
For a considerable period of time, the house was abandoned. It has recently (2016) been renovated in a manner completely respectful to the history of the place and its interior furniture and decoration. In the front yard and all around the place, apart from the blooming garden, there is a one-acre orchard full of fruit trees and herbals.
The chalet is located on an uphill stone path about 45 meters from the public road (there are free parking spaces on this road). This stone path is not accessible by conventional car or by people with mobility issues.
GROUND FLOOR
It has an entrance hall with beautiful decoration and wood staircase, two bedrooms, a kitchen with modern amenities and a bathroom.
THE MASTER BEDROOM
Is furnished originally with items of the previous century. The wooden rooftop, the hand-made chandelier and the magnificent double bed offer a romantic feeling of a different era. Two large windows view the sea and Pelion mountain respectively offering endless relaxation. Extras include: a 40-inch smart TV set.
THE SECOND BEDROOM
Is also furnished with original hand-made items. Accommodation includes a semi-double bed and a sliding single one with anatomical matrices. The wooden rooftop and the nice lighting match the stylish furniture including a clever desk on the window sill. This window offers a spectacular view to the sea.Extras include: a 24-inch TV set.
KITCHEN
Start your day preparing your breakfast in the Mansion’s kitchen, a large room with wooden cupboards and an elegant dining table. Relax on the small couch and let yourself be taken in by the magnificent mountain view. Facilities are plenty: fridge freezer, electric ceramic hob and oven, microwave oven, filter coffee-maker, juicer, jug kettle, toaster, dishwasher.
BATHROOM
The two-room bathroom offers all modern facilities, another relaxation spot. Extras include jacuzzi (Jacuzzi is free) . For security reasons, the separate area of the hammam is used by the guests only as a shower.
THE ATTIC
Comes as a surprise to the guest of the house. Its wooden linings accompanied by the original stylish furniture takes you back to life into a different epoch. Its two large windows and the french door lead you to their magnificent view. It’s a living room, a dining room with an office altogether, furniture includes a double bed and a low single bed. Extras include: a 55-inch smart TV set, a Blue–ray player.
FRONT YARD – ORCHARD-VEGETABLE GARDEN
In the front yard and all around the place, apart from the blooming garden, there is a one-acre orchard full of fruit trees and herbals and one vegetable garden The vegetable garden in the summer is full of tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers, zucchini, aubergines, etc . The guests can taste all of them and also they can find there many different species of herbals which Pelion mountain is famous for.
PATIO
is a large spacious stone-paved area surrounded by trees and blooming flowers. There you can find an outdoor dining room right next to the Mansion’s kitchen. Guests can also enjoy their coffee or a drink at night at the large kiosk. There are also many different spots with outdoor furniture all over the place.
The orchard is a multi-layered area full of fruit trees, next to the front yard. Guests can find there many different species of herbals which Pelion mountain is famous for.
Guests are welcome to use all internal and external areas of the property, excluding any areas used for storage.
The chalet is located in Portaria, Pelion, Volos, Greece, only 8km away from Volos, the largest port-city in Central Greece. Portaria is one of the so called “twenty–four villages on Pelion Mountain”, the place of the mythical Centaurs. The chalet is very close to the church of Saints Anargiri, a place of natural beauty with huge plane trees and spring water, on an stone-path only forty (40) metres away from the main road and the parking area. The central square of Portaria, one of the village’s sites, is within a few minutes reach on foot.The village offers a wealth of amenities including cafés, bars, fine-dinning restaurants, traditional Greek Tavernas, fast-food (e.g. Souvalki, Crepes, Pizza), local shops, mini-market, bakery and pharmacy. The village offers a variety of outdoor activities, including:Horse-ridding with a guide, Hiking with signposted trails, Cycling (there is a Bike-Hire shop in the village)
A nearby bus stop, only a 3-minute walk away from the property, offers services to the city of Volos as well as other Pelion mountain and beach villages.
At a distance between 10km - 50km, there are exceptionally beautiful beaches for swimming, tanning and water-sports in the Aegean sea and Pagasetic Gulf (e.g. Milopotamos, Damouchari, Fakistra, Ai Giannis, Horefto, Horto, Milina)
