“Family and friend gathering. 9 adults over 50 years old. We enjoyed being on the Themes and spent our time outside. The house is not meant for that many adults even though it has 5 bedrooms. Many of the beds were too short and one room is clearly a children’s room. The place needs some TLC on furniture, rugs, beds (sag in middle) and outdoor cleanliness…lots of spider webs. But that also adds to the charm. Things to note. One room has up and down steps to bathroom and a very narrow opening. We...

“We had absolutely no heating. I tried several times to contact the owner by email, messenger and by phoning her. No reply. I had been in contact with her regarding check in via email and messenger, I even sent a photo of the temperature in the house. 10 degrees. I had to source 2 radiators myself, which a kind neighbour lent us. I would like a refund for our inconvenience ”

“I am not sure where to begin, but our stay at the Victorian Lodge in Windsor was absolutely amazing. Hamish was a wonderful host, and we could've stayed forever. There is something special about being in the English countryside, and our stay at the Lodge almost felt like we were inside of a storybook. If you want to be close to London/Windsor, but away from the crowds and the noise, you will not regret staying here. We had no issues getting food delivered, or getting rides to/from the lodge....

“Really enjoyed our stay in this lovely cottage. The property was full of character, very clean and in a quiet area but within easy walking distance to all the main attractions. Check in was very straightforward. Would highly recommend. ”

“This was the most glorious hideaway - we didn't want to leave! It's a wonderfully curated and comfortable space with so many lovely touches. The host couldn't do enough for you. We're already planning our return!”

“Perfect spot to decompress for a few days after arriving from the US. Beautiful cottage and very thoughtful design, clearly professional. We’ll be sure to return in the future ”

“There is no parking at the property. It’s pot luck on roads around the property!! I received a parking ticket during my stay having specifically booked because the listing said parking. The beds were really comfortable, but some of the cleanliness and condition of things was questionable. There’s also a really noisy neighbour who blares television through the wall until 12pm. Shame, it had so much potential.”

“Pros & Cons - overall, a good place to stay. Note to future travelers - scan the welcome QR Code *FIRST!* Hot water is on a timer, with a (semi-functional) "boost" button should you need hot water not during the "on" hours (hint: you will need to use it, if you want a hot shower; we never did figure out what the optimal time would have been). If you have 5 travelers, and you tell the landlord, you will still need to set up the sofa bed on your own when you arrive. Linens are in a storage area...

Locanda caratteristica

"Il locale è molto caratteristico, perché sorge sul Tamigi, a due passi dal castello di Windsor, in una zona molto vivace di Eton. La stazione Riverside è vicinissima, e la struttura si raggiunge con una spesa non eccessiva in Taxi/Uber da Heathrow. Ci abbiamo passato una sola notte, che per fortuna presentava il tipico clima dell’estate inglese: la stanza non è condizionata, e la mattina diventa calda. Le scale molto ripide, ma lo staff ci ha aiutato a portar su i bagagli. La cosa più notevole del soggiorno, però, è stata la colazione: a differenza di quanto si trova solitamente in albergo, è stata cucinata tutta espressa. Ci è voluto un (bel) po’, ma se uno vuole provare l’esperienza del «full English breakfast», questo è un ottimo posto per farlo. Rustico, ma consigliato"
