“Very nice hotel closed to the city Center of Hilo. The hotel is fully renewed and it embraces the spirit of Big Island and Hilo particularly, with respect to the planet and providing nice amenities for Yoga and meditation. The room was clean and comfortable, the staff very nice. I couldn’t ask for a better stay ”

“The location of this hotel is unbeatable. The volcano crater is right at the back of the hotel. And it's one of the best spot to view the crater. You can view it from the lobby and dining room, or walk out for a more open view. One thing that makes staying here really great is that: you could only see the red lava when it's dark (and cold). So ppl stay late or come in really early to watch the sun rise. Staying here makes everything convenient. The food in the restaurant was actually not bad...

“Staff and environment was just top tier. From checking in, and dining in the restaurant, we had no issues during our stay. The rooms are cozy and clean and comfortable. Although the hot tub was closed off, we still enjoyed our stay. The Ohia room was beautiful. Dining dinner options was excellent and great quality food and lots to explore around volcano area! Me and my husband checked out the trails at bird park up the road in the morning, amazing views and time. Mahalo for making our stay so...

“Having booked this online, I was pleasantly surprised upon arrival. The inn is in the rainforest, and very charming. Our host greeted us upon arrival and was extremely helpful throughout our stay. Everything was very clean, spacious, and conveniently located to Volcano National Park. I highly recommend staying here.”

“Loved the sound of the falls. This place is actually a great value compared to other options in this part of the island especially because of the free breakfast and coffee/tra available throughout the day. They offer optional paid activities which are great and unique. Access is thru a very long, single lane road so best to arrive during the day. ”

“Outstanding location near Volcano national park with friendly and helpful staff. All of the details were thought of from breakfast to shoe cleaning kit and bathrobes. A book with all of the information you’d need about the property, about the National Park, and about the area was provided. We highly recommend this place if you’re in the area. Perfect place to stay right outside of Volcano National park. ”

“The experience of staying at Kalani Oceanside Retreat was very relaxing and beautiful. We enjoyed the yoga class we signed up for very much. The people we encountered, both guests and staff, were great to talk with. The cottage we stayed at had lots of room and we had a fabulous view of the ocean and grounds around us.”

“What a beautiful slice of paradise—a little sweet cottage with everything we needed —off the grid (but still close enough to groceries and great restaurants) with excellent hikes and beaches nearby. Eric and Susie were excellent hosts with delicious breakfasts featuring local fruits and visits from their friendly cat, Slash. We left happy and relaxed. ”

“This was booked last minute due to a last minute cancellation for another property. Beautiful property especially for the earthy type of individual. It was perfect for my needs however I don’t see people staying here that require more of an upscale type of setting. Leaving the room to use the community restroom is probably the only thing that was not too thrilling. All in all it fulfilled my expectations.”
