“We had a lovely comfortable stay. We did have to clean the bathroom a little as few hairs on the bath and toilet had brown water in the bottom but apart from that it was lovely. We had robes in the wardrobes, toiletries and plenty of towels. The coffee pod machine is a nice touch. Overall hotel was clean as you could be for its size ! We really enjoyed our stay thank you ”

“This is one of my favourite hotels to stay in Scarborough despite it being owned by the Britannia group of hotels . Where I live there is a lot of bigotry towards LGBTQI + people so I decided to take a break away from local bigots for a few days The lovely reception person saw how stressed and tired I was and as I love a high floor I was upgraded to the Gordon Suite, room 502 on the very top floor of the hotel . “Very enjoyable stay. Only problem was parking. Long way to walk to the car park with bags, especially when you have mobility problems. Other than that stay was lovely and David was very helpful and friendly. As an ex resident of Scarborough all the staff were very friendly, helpful and professional. ”

“Lovely hotel with good old fashioned service. Large, comfortable room, with a super king sized bed. Lovely staff who looked after us. The decor was a little tired, but overall good and would come back and recommend. Great location, very handy for the train station, theatre and sea front.”

“I reserved a room upgrade got a Accessible Room. The bed was old not fit for purpose. The hotel was like an old folks home tired and badly appointed. They started breakfast at 8am because I had appointments locally from 8am had to skip breakfast. The vast majority of hotels I stay at breakfast starts at 7am. When I questioned why I had been given an accessible room the lady told me I was lucky to get a big bathroom completely missing my point. You would be better off booking a B&B locally. Sorry...

“Just back from South Lodge and want to say thank you very much to Steve & Tony. We arrived early and the rooms were ready, they were spacious, clean, beds were comfy the decor was lovely. Breakfast was delicious, plenty of and not for the fainthearted. Parking at the property spot on as you dont always have that luxory. Well stocked Tea & Coffee in the room and the homemade cookies were very tasty and a chocolate finished off the welcoming. Toiletries were top quality. Nothing was too much...

“Then room was very cosy, just what you need on a cold winter night. We stayed here as we thought that as 2 ladies going out we could finish the night in the bar then go straight upstairs to our room and to bed. This worked really well when we stayed before. Unfortunately, this time when we returned at about 10.15 the bar was closed and we had to go elsewhere to end our evening. We would go back again. ”

"Una camera da sogno (la 1604) in una struttura storica meravigliosa e ricca di fascino. Assolutamente consigliata per vivere la storia dello Yorkshire! Raggiungibile comodamente a piedi dalla stazione per chi come noi viaggia in treno."
