“What really made our stay special is kindness and attentiveness of the staff. We had large suitcases, and though the train station was a five minute walk, the front desk manager noticed us struggle walking uphill and came to our rescue with a hotel van, loaded and unloaded our bags. “A great base to visit the snow monkeys. A beautiful and traditional onsen. The breakfast and dinner was served by older ladies that did not necessarily speak English but definitely kept trying to make it an amazing experience each time. The variety of the served food was just overwhelming. So delicious and always something freshly cooked right at your table. “素泊まりでしたがロビーにてアルコール含むドリンクバーが無料で利用でき、おつまみのナッツなども食べ放題でした。和洋室があるので布団で寝るのが難しい海外の方にもおすすめです。簡易的なベッドではありますが、1泊くらいなら問題ないと思いました。もちろん温泉は最高！曜日にもよるのかもしれませんが朝と夜は周辺のお店や施設がほとんど閉まっている様子だったので、湯田中温泉を訪れる際はこちらのような温泉付きのホテルや旅館に宿泊することをおすすめします。”

“The hospitality (service and meals) at Shiganoyu Hotel were amazing. While we did not speak Japanese and the staff did not speak English, they used a translation tool for conversation and didn't let that be a barrier.
